ZED graphite
Commitment
At ZED Graphite, we believe that a modern approach to stone and graphite mining begins first and foremost with respect: respect for citizens, for the environment, and for the future of the land. Our commitment is simple: to inform, to consult, and to build a project on a human scale.
Commitment
Our regulatory and social approach
In Quebec, all mineral resource extraction requires a lease granted by the government. There are two types of leases, depending on the nature of the extracted substances:
-
The mining lease, generally used for underground mineral substances, has a minimum duration of 20 years and can be renewed for periods of 10 years or more, up to three times.
-
The surface mineral substance extraction lease is intended for surface projects. Its duration is shorter, not exceeding 10 years, with a maximum of two 5-year renewals.
As part of our project, we have chosen an exclusive surface mineral substance extraction lease (BEX) with a duration of 7 years. This choice is both strategic and responsible: it allows the project to be implemented gradually, to demonstrate its benefits concretely, and to build a strong relationship with the local community. We believe that social acceptability is essential to the success of our project. That’s why we prioritize transparency, ongoing citizen involvement, and harmonious integration into the region.

Commitment
Social Acceptability
From the very beginning of the project, we have placed citizens at the heart of our decisions. We are committed to being present, transparent, and attentive.

Commitment
Sustainable Development and Local Benefits
Our project aims to generate direct and lasting benefits for the local community, starting from the very first phases of operation.
